    Upon your evening arrival in Lima, a Magical Tours Peru representative transfers you from the airport to in a great Location of Lima.

    LIMA CITY TOUR (With Larco Museum)

    This is a fully 6 hour comprehensive tour of the “City of Kings.” This exciting tour begins at your hotel after breakfast. First is a visit to the Miraflores area, the downtown scene that boasts a view of the Pacific Ocean. Continue to the modern residential suburb of San Isidro, and then drive to the colonial area and the Plaza de Armas where you will see the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, and the City Hall. A visit to the Lacro Museum will be arranged. The last stop is at Lima’s seventeenth-century San Francisco church and catacombs, a heritage of world culture. Return to the Hotel in the afternoon.     LIMA CULINARY TOUR (6-8 hours with Lunch)

    Your Peru culinary tour gets underway at 10 AM when you’re picked up at your hotel by a specialized guide and taken to the market of Lima’s heroic district, Miraflores. Teeming with local produce and seafood, here you’ll learn about the ingredients of Peruvian cuisine from your knowledgeable guide. Your private cooking lesson, featuring ceviche and pisco sours, will take place at one of the best restaurants in Lima under the guidance of an expert chef. Ceviche is originally a Peruvian dish dating back to colonial times. After devouring the creation, you’ll also learn how to prepare the national aperitif, the Pisco Sour, a sublime blend of Peruvian brandy and lime juice topped with a froth of whipped egg whites. Afterwards, your guide will have lunch with you and explain all the dishes from the menu so you can try different Peruvian plates. Finally, you will visit Lima Downtown and the Culinary Museum before returning to the JW Marriot for your final evening in Lima. (B, L)

    LIMA – CUSCO

    In the morning, an MTP representative transfers you to the airport for your flight to Cusco, the center of the Inca Empire. Magical Tours Peru guides pick you up at the airport, stopping for a quick tour of the colonial Plaza de Armas before taking you to the Hotel to check in. After lunch on your own, spend the afternoon touring prominent Inca sights in and around Cusco. You’ll see Sacsayhuamán, a fortress with megalithic stone terraces; the carved stone surfaces and subterranean altars of Kenko; the small Puka Pukara fortress that protected the royal capital; and the water temple, Tambo Machay. In the evening, you are returned to your hotel to spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring Cusco’s fascinating mix of cultures on your own. Overnight at a great Hotel. (B,L)

    CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHU PICCHU

    This morning you will have an early start in Cusco to head to the Ollantaytambo train station for today’s unforgettable trip. Making its way toward the Amazon and Machu Picchu, the train follows the Urubamba River into a magnificent cloud forest, arriving at the station. Here take a traditional lunch before meeting the bus waiting to take you the rest of the way to Machu Picchu (7,875 feet). Spend the afternoon exploring the famous ruins, returning in the late afternoon to nearby Aguas Calientes where you’ll be spending the night. You’ll have time for a soothing soak in the hot springs and a tasty dinner before turning in early and spend another restful night at Machu Picchu Pueblo. (L, B, D)

    MACHU PICCHU – CHINCHEROS ARTISAN MARKET – CUSCO

    Today, take the opportunity to see an unmatched sunrise at Machu Picchu before the crowds arrive and spend the rest of the day among the numerous ruins a climb to the sacred peak of Huayna Picchu or a picturesque walk to the Temple of the Moon. Return midday to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch and your early afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo. Meet your private van at the train station to travel to the collective Chincheros textile market, featuring an explanation of the traditional weaving methods of the Sacred Valley and some of the best textiles available in Peru. This is the ideal place for last minute shopping. Enjoy your last evening in Peru at your beautiful Hotel. (B, L)

    Hiking Details: 1.25 miles; approximately 2-3 hours hiking, the trail is narrow and very steep Altitude min/max: from 7,875 ft to 8,835 ft.
