    LIMA – CUSCO

    In the morning you will be taken to the airport for your flight to Cusco, center of the Inca Empire. Magical Tours Peru Washi guide will pick you up at the airport, stopping for a quick tour of the colonial Plaza de Armas before taking you to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. (B, L)

    SACRED VALLEY COMMUNITY SERVICE NATIVE COMMUNITY SERVICE

    Breakfast at the hotel starting at 6:00 am. Pick up at 9:00 am to visit native communities of willoc where we will see how the Incas lived 600 hundred years ago. We will provide school supplies as well as hot chocolate and sweet bread for the children. And were the shaman guide will perform a ceremony for all you with the help of the native master of the community. Picnic lunch with the native family. Spend the afternoon pilgrimage to the sacred site that is very ancient and no tourist at all. You will do fire ceremony with music and connect to the sky the being and the milky way. Diner include with professional cook. Afternoon get Ready for the Ina Trail hike. (B,L,)

    SACRED VALLEY – HUAYLLABAMBA / Camp

    You wake up early this morning for the bus ride to (Km 82), where your Inca Trail trek begins. After meeting our porters you cross the Urubamba River by bridge. Continuing along the winding path between the sloping banks of the river, you have a stunning view of the Vilcanota mountain range and Mt. Veronica (18,745 feet). The route travels through the narrow Cusichaca valley, with slopes that show the clear imprint of an ancient culture and its agriculture practices. Later, you’ll arrive at the small indigenous community of Huayllabamba (9,694 ft.), to camp for the night. (B, L, D)

    HUAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO / Camp

    Along the trail, through the narrow hanging valley, you begin to see a cloud forest where the Quenua tree grows, a rarity of the Andes. From here, your Inca Trail trek ascends steeply to large pampas and continues to Dead Woman’s Pass, the highest pass on the Inca Trail at 13,829 ft. After a short break, you’ll begin the descent to where you will camp overnight at Pacaymayo (10,991 ft.). (B,L,D)

    PACAYMAYO – PHUYUPATAMARCA / Camp

    Today’s Magical tours take you through most of the archaeological ruins seen along the Inca Trail. The first is Runkuracay. At this small resting place, you’ll visit the ruins before reaching a second pass and then gradually climbing towards the second highest pass on the trek (12,973 ft.). Here you’ll have a spectacular view of the Cordillera of Vilcanota. After a break, you’ll descend towards the Inca village of Sayacmarca (11,850 ft.). Along the way, you observe a marvel of Inca engineering, and then come upon the beautiful ruins of Phuyupatamarca (11,975 ft.) where you’ll camp for the night. (B,L,D)

    PHUYUPATAMARCA – MACHU PICCHU

    Today’s Magical trekking begins by passing the Phuyupatamarca ruins and then follows the flagstone trail that winds sharply down into the cloud forest leading to the ruins of Wiñay Wayna (8,855 feet). Wiñay Wayna is located along the same watercourse as Phuyupatamarca and contains well-restored Inca ruins. After two more hours of trekking the Inca Trail, you pass through a cloud forest and then arrive at your long-awaited destination, Machu Picchu (7,970 feet), entering through Intipunku, the Sun Gate. After a brief tour, you travel to the nearby town of Aguas Calientes (6,690 ft.)The late afternoon train takes you back to Ollantaytambo, where you will meet your driver and travel to the Chincheros Market. This traditional weaving community is known for is impressive textile works and artisan products. Here the local artisans will give you an introduction to their handy work including their processes for shearing, dyeing, spooling, and weaving from alpaca. Take advantage of last minute shopping before you are transferred to the Hotel (B, L)

    Free morning to explore Cusco before an afternoon transfer to the airport for the return flight to Lima and them home.

INCA TRAIL TREK DETAILS

The Machu Picchu and Inca Trail Tours consist of five to six hours of hiking per day. Plenty of time is allowed for you to set your own pace. You are expected to carry only a small daypack with your camera, spare film, water bottle, and rain gear. Porters carry additional clothing, personal effects, and the camping equipment. All trekkers are provided with a North Face tent and air mattress sleeping pad. Free from the weight of a large pack, you have more time for photography, observation, and exciting discovery on this Inca Trail Peru tour.

You will awake early in the morning to a fresh cup of tea brought to your tent, along with a bowl of hot water for washing. Expert trail cooks, with years of experience, will prepare your meals using fresh vegetables, beef, and chicken. Vegetarian offerings are also available.

Trekking begins around 8am and most of the day’s distances are covered before lunchtime. We aim to arrive at the campsite by mid – afternoon, giving you plenty of time to unpack for the night and to enjoy your surroundings. You have ample time to walk at your own pace and take in the fascinating surroundings. This Inca Trail Hike is a trekker’s dream.

  • Wind proof jacket, mostly clothes for mild weather 60-70 degrees F. Warm jacket, hat and gloves for high altitude evenings.
